記得以前英文課學到 envy 這個字的時候，知道 envy 同時隱含著兩種情緒，一種是羨慕，另一種是嫉妒；以前以為羨慕相對於嫉妒是比較正面的，現在才體會到，其實不管是羨慕還是嫉妒，都是十足具有殺傷力的情緒。

愛的功課 -- Love is patient
就像很多爸媽是在小孩蹦出來之後才開始學習怎麼當爸媽，我想 40 歲以後的我要學習的是，愛。
哥林多前書 13 章可以說是聖經教導「愛」的功課的精華版，即使不是基督徒也聽過那首歌，重新再讀，再默想，才發現原來藏有許多以前不懂 (或自以為很懂) 的奧秘與細節。

Honor your father and your mother
即將來到的40歲生日，神透過傳道姐妹的口、電視節目的啟發，以及老友的分享，提醒我一個基要的真理。
出埃及記第20章，神頒布十誡。第12節寫到「Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.」
